The Art Institute of Chicago
Community Associates

Community Associates groups encourage membership to the Art Institute of Chicago by bringing communities into a closer relationship with the museum through programs that support and promote adult education in the visual arts. Currently there are 16 groups serving the greater Chicago area and northwest Indiana.

Each Community Associates group presents annual programs with the support of the Art Institute's Department of Museum Education. Programs focus on the museum's collection and exhibitions through lectures in individual communities and arranged trips to the Art Institute. Groups also host study groups, lecture series, trips, visits to artists' studios and private collections, and other art-related events.
