Graduate Student Seminar
For the past 40 years, the Department of Museum Education has hosted an annual symposium for graduate students in art history at midwestern universities.
Students are chosen by their universities because of outstanding research or writing projects, and a local faculty member acts as discussant to the panels.
One of the papers will be chosen as a public lecture topic.
Dates This year's lecture will take place on November 15 at noon. The next Graduate Student Seminar is scheduled for April 17 and 18, 2009.

Participating Universities Participating universities have included Indiana University at Bloomington, Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Iowa, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and Washington University in St. Louis.
How to Visit the Museum with Your Class
- Call group sales at (312) 857-7104 to arrange for a guided tour of some aspect of the collection or to purchase tickets to the museum or a ticketed exhibition.
- Visit the museum on your own and buy tickets once you arrive. If possible, let us know you?re coming. Call (312) 857-7104.
Access to Ryerson and Burnham Libraries
All college students, faculty, and staff have access to the Ryerson and Burnham Libraries. A valid college ID is required for admittance.
Internships
Many departments offer internships for academic credit throughout the school year and summer. There are also year-round opportunities for volunteers.
